The person I lost is Marcelino Angeles. I lost him to drugs. My uncle isn't dead but he has changed and does not act as he use to. He is one of seven children, the second oldest son. He used to be a hardworking man, he still is, but his life is not the same as it used to be. He lived in Los Angeles and was a very famous construction person. He had a big family that loved him and supported him but I guess that wasn't enough. When he started using drugs, his family wanted to help him but he never listened. After a while he started losing his job then his family. He thought that he would be able to stay with some friends but they weren't really his friends.
One memory I have about my uncle was two years ago. I was with a cousin and we started talking about him. One of my cousins, Ricardo, was working in a fast food restaurant and told us about the day that he visited him. He said that when he came into the restaurant he looked so wrong, he was under the influence of drugs. He was using a rope for a belt, and it looked like he hadn't showered in days. He started asking Ricardo for food and said he hadn't eaten in days.
Even though my uncle did all those bad things he still has a negative and a positive impact on me. A negative one because he showed me what drugs could do. All the damage they can provoke to a persons life. But he has a positive impact because now he is working really hard to become a better father, son, and human being.
