For this project, we were asked to talk about how to make an interesting biography. Then, as homework, we had to interview as many family memebers (older than yourself) about their life or their experiences. We then had to choose one person, and create a narrative about them. Through this project, we are able to show the world things they never would have guessed or things they didnt know. The person I chose to do my narrative on was my mom. This is because how things were when she was younger are so much more different than they are now.

How it was before
On the ride back from school, Gricelda was feeling hyper, as hyper as a 11 year old could be. She couldn't wait for her homework to be done and for it to be time to hang out with her friends. It had become a tradition, everyday after coming back from school, doing home work and chores, they would all meet outside her house and go out in search of adventures and treasures. When she finally saw her house, she couldn't stop jumping up and down on her seat, full of excitement. When her dad, Alberto, finally stopped the car, she runs down trying to get inside her house faster than everyone else. Her sister Esperanza runs along side her, trying to run faster. Gricelda smiled with pleasure, knowing she had won, and opened the door to find her mom, Lulu, cooking. Lulu turned around and opened her arms wide for Gricelda and Esperanza to fit.
“Hi honey!” Lulu kissed their foreheads and ruffled the top of their heads.
“Mom, what is it you are cooking?” Alberto, her oldest brother, asks as he enters the house.
“Its a surprise, now go do your homework.”
They all run into their rooms and immediately start on their homework. About an hour later, after having eaten chile rellenos, they run outside to their yard to wait for their friends. As they were waiting, Marcelino, the third oldest brother, starts climbing the tallest tree on their yard and beckons them to follow him. As the 7 of them climb the tree, they start making monkey noises and hang upside down from their legs, daring each other to go higher. When they finally see all their friends coming, they take turns jumping down from the branches of the tree as if they weren't scared of falling. Gricelda, being a gymnastics, was able to make a perfect landing and a small twirl at the end, showing of as always. After saying hello and talking for a while, they start piling up on the bikes. They are 4 people per bike, with about 15 bikes in total, making them laugh when someone falls. When everyone was ready, the adventure began.
Gricelda felt the wind on her face refreshing, after days of excessive heat, a little wind felt great. As they arrived to the river, they took off their shoes and threw them at the sky and ran. They all separate into two teams and want to see which team can catch more small animals like frogs, worms, and mice. Then when time is up, count the greatest number of animals, the winning team gets to eat first when they arrive back home. Then they play chocolate, a tag like game where there is two teams and one has to tag the other team but instead of switching rolls, they stay frozen with their legs open and have to wait for a team member to crawl beneath their legs to un freeze them.
When the sun starts to set, they all head back home. In front of Gricelda's house, she could see that all the moms were waiting for them, having displayed a small table with lemonade and Gansitos, a chocolate covered treat. Gricelda looked around and thought to herself how great days like this where and how she couldn't wait for tomorrow to be the same.
As she thinks about this story, she notices how it all was before.
