The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn is a book about a young boy, Huck, who finds a friend in an African American man, Jim. The story is about the journey Huck and Jim experience on their way to freedom, Huck from an alcoholic abusive father and Jim from his life as a slave. The emotional journey Huck experiences in seeing Jim as no longer property but as a friend and companion. This novel was written during the NADIR but takes time before the Civil War happened.
