Family is a very important theme. The ´human experience´ of family are the experiences all of us have had with our family. We are learning about family because we get to learn what the word family means to all of us. We get to connect with other people in our classroom because we may have the same family culture and ethnics. I have gotten to know my classmates better by talking about each of our families and our experiences.
Families are people that support and love you no matter what. They will always be there for you and love you until the end of time. Sociologists define the word family as a social group in society typically consisting of one or two parents and their children that cohabitate. My family consists of 6 people including myself. They are both my parents, Juan Carlos and Gricelda, both of my sisters, Renata and Isabella, and my little brother, Juan Carlos. My family supports me by helping me to do what is right and also by trusting me in all the things I do. Sometimes my sisters and I may fight but we manage to forgive each other.
From my point of view families aren’t perfect. People get their idea of a perfect family from books, TV shows, and movies. In Leave it to Beaver the ideal ¨American Family¨ consists of the parents talking to each other, giving each other advice, the kids being respectful to their parents, going outside to play, and having nice quality time with their children. They relate to each other by their way of being, they are kind and the children are respectful. My family relates to each other by our sense of humor, our hair color, and our anger.
I do relate to the story of The Bad Dogs of Park City because of the way they all protect each other. Sometime I do think that dogs or animals are more loyal to their families than humans. Each of our family members all play a role in our families’ and that were what the story was about.
For the photograph we took of our family I choose to take a picture of my family’s hands. My intent for this picture was to show the hands they use to do all their hard work. While editing this picture I decided to put the hands more focused than their faces and background. I did this so that it was easier to focus on the main subject which was the hands. I also choose to do it in a sepia kind of color so that the picture looks like one of those really old pictures you just love to see and show all the love that was put into it.
